Oh boy! We have a great giveaway going on at Elasticpantcity and it involves LEGO! Have you guys ever heard of the LEGO franchise called Snapology? Snapology offers hands-on, interactive activities for children using LEGO bricks, K’nex and technology. They create STEM learning experiences through classes, workshops, camps, birthday parties, school field trips, scouting events and more. They also offer amazing franchise opportunities for anyone with a passion to teach kids in a fun and creative way. To see more about how Snapology works you can watch this video.

In our previous post you can see that our family gears our home-learning towards the arts but it’s equally important that we cover the sciences. STEM is a curriculum based on educating kids in four specific disciplines – Science, technology, engineering and mathematics through an applied approach. Rather than teaching these disciplines separately, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm. It’s this idea of integration and hands-on learning that gets us excited! Our kids are registered with HCOS which offers STEM learning activities but we would love to see Snapology franchises popping up in the Lower Mainland. I love the idea of a Snapology birthday party!

I love robotics and lego stem sets. I help a 4-H robotics group at our community center. This would be a great addition to lego robotics set. This is my first time hearing about the Snapology area.

I think the combo of STEM and Lego is amazing! My son actually took a STEM learning afterschool program and he loved it. He loved that he could create something out of Lego and turn it into a robot. I love that it’s not just about building with Lego, but it’s also science!

I am very excited for my son to take the principles of STEM in his learning and lego makes a natural educational tool for this.

We call it STEM in Australia too. I have two wannabe Lego designers/industrial engineers in my household who would die over this prize!

My son absolutely adores Legos. How cool would it be that he gets to play with Legos and learn about science and engineering all at the same time? This is such a great idea!
