Rosemary and chocolate is an amazing savoury sweet combination and when I googled a recipe for a Rosemary Chocolate cake I found this one. The only things I changed were the spelt flour for all-purpose whole wheat flour and dark chocolate chunks for chocolate chips. I search for recipes where I have the ingredients on hand which meant with a few simple changes, this baby was in the oven in under ten minutes.
In my visit to the midwife today I was firmly admonished to avoid stressors. Not only can the impact of stressful experiences be linked to pre-term labour but it is also bad for the mental health of the baby. My life has been full of stress, some of it is from the business of being; moving and health complications with the baby. A major load of it is from life stuff that impacts me but is not mine to share. Suffice it to say, if I was only worried about my own health, I’d probably dive right in but when it comes to this little one in the womb, I’m running for cover. I’m also baking, sewing, painting and doing whatever creative activities I can find that are a stress relief for me. Eating this cake was a little piece of heaven.
