Indoor Day | Digging for Treasure
I had a morning with my three year old where I could do nothing right and I was being hit by wave after wave of tantrums. Thank God for nap time because it brings the potential of a fresh start to the day. Before he woke up I filled a baking dish with dried beans and buried a handful of marshmallows, fake money and monkeys. Once he was up I told him he was going to go on a treasure hunt. Instant joy!
Little Jethro wanted in on the action and to calm the brewing storm I gave him his own container filled with dried rice. That was stupid. He used the rice as confetti and our kitchen became a rice bowl. We were having a bunch of friends over for a potluck that night, so again, poor planning on my part.
Despite the mess it was such a relief to have happy boys.
Because I wish to be as transparent as possible on Elasticpantcity I wanted to state the obvious:
1. I stage all the photos where my house looks clean.
2. Sometimes Levi dresses himself and I pretend I don’t notice his shirt is inside out (Choose your battles, right?).
3. Craft time never goes as perfectly as planned (or not planned).

January 17, 2013I love it! Somedays just are that way aren’t they? but thank you for being honest, and for the idea. I will just have to pull that one out one of these days!

January 27, 2013It’s definitely fun for the kiddos, just be prepared to clean up!

January 27, 2013Yes, definitely. We actually kept ours out on the floor of the living room in front of the window for 4 or 5 days, and clean up wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. Thank goodness for big bath towels!
